My decision to run is rooted in a deep concern for the most pressing and interrelated challenges facing our state today: the sustainability of our public education system, the urgent need for affordable housing, and the skyrocketing costs of healthcare. These issues are personal to me.
I grew up in Springfield, Vermont, attended the public schools and UVM, and chose to return here to raise my own children because I cherish the close-knit community and sense of place that define our state. Yet, it feels like much of what I love about our community is at risk as the next generation may not see Vermont as a viable place to raise a family.
